When I was in high school, at the illustrious Westlake High, there was a bit of a buzz around a guy who made custom cut & sew leather clothes named David. I remember seeing a buddy of mine at a football game with a leather basketball jersey(it was so dope) with "Navier" written across the chest, and just the idea that another student was behind such a creative idea impressed a young fashion lover and streetwear aficionado such as myself.
Fast forward a decade and I'm at an event for the beautifully crafted, 1 of 1, Navier Gran Bello. David has transitioned the brand to a luxury eyewear line with this masterpiece as its crowning jewel. The Gran Bello follows the classic Navier silhouette with a 14k rose gold pilot bar with peach diamonds, a brown frame, and gradient peach lenses. The Gran Bello, as well as all Navier glasses, are hand made in Italy and designed here in Atlanta. The Gran Bello was simply elegant and fits its $2750 price tag(since it's a 1 of 1, it pretty much makes it a custom pair of shades). The classic Navier frame was also on display and quite impressive. I was specifically enamored with the forest green pair that exemplified style, sophistication and an Avant Garde appeal that the brand used to catch my attention all those years ago,
2014 was a big year for the brand and 2015 looks to be even more promising so please check out their website www.naviereyewear.com and the two Atlanta (Buckhead) stockist VUE Eyewear on Roswell Road and Salles Opticians in Phipps Plaza. Much appreciation to David and the guys at Navier for a great event and continuing to create and push such awesome product.
