If you're following me on Instagram, or have seen me in person on a day I just don't want to wear sneakers or laces ups, chances are you've seen me in some mean tasseled loafers. I usually avoided questions about them unless you were "the homie" just so I wouldn't have to tell people where I got them or what brand they were. We've all done it, but I quickly got over that(and myself) and actually decided to pay homage to a very dope brand that I've followed for the past 3 years, Charles Philip.
The brand was Founded in 2010 and has been bringing a premium product with a sleek, upscale, and luxurious silhouette. The particular model I have chosen to endorse is the Ronald. The Ronald is a suede body and .5 inch rubber sole with two tassels at the front. Philips designed this and others in his line with elements of the classic English Gentry Slipper and the brand caught international attention with the rise in popularity of smoking flats and loafers. Philip honed his craft in the French design district of Shanghai and adds those elegant and precise details into his design. One of the cooler things that I have noticed is that the lining of each shoe has his favorite and signature pattern; blue and white stripes.
I've been a fan since I was put on by an awesome young lady I was dating back in the day(like 2012 was that long ago). The attention to detail, premium materials, their classic yet modern silhouette, and moderate pricing($208 on their website) all equal a win to me. I love my loafers, I own three pair and I get compliments and they are so versatile. Do yourself a favor and check them out at www.charlesphilipshanghai.com
