It's finally the summer time. An amazing time to be in Atlanta and one of my favorite places to take in good vibes and to ultimately learn something new is our own High Museum. I myself and my sister took in some awesome sights and explored the modern art wing to catch a glimpse of of one of this generations most popular and influential artists, KAWS, Brian Donnelly.
You've seen his work in galleries, clothing(original fake), liquor bottles, MTV awards, and several other mediums. Along with seeing KAWS I fell in love with an artist I was unfamiliar with. I've always been a fan of realism and cityscapes so naturally I was drawn to Richard Estes. His brand of painting is so realistic it was known to begin the hyper-realistic or photorealistic movement. His work typically contains sites of New York City where reflections, light, and very intense details are highlighted.
There is plenty more to check out at the High. I definitely plan on getting back this summer for one of their awesome events(great date idea). For those of you like me who live in or have Fulton County ID's its free until 1PM every first Saturday. Encourage, Enlighten, Explore.
