The classic Double Breasted suit is known for its elegance and its versatility. Typically the piece comes with 6 buttons and a wider lapel and with today's modern fits, the usually boxy shape has been trimmed down through the waist and with higher armholes creates a more masculine and slim silhouette. I mentioned its versatility; here are three ways to wear your Double breasted blazer in the formal and casual environments. The Navy Double Breasted can definitely be your go to for the fall.
As shown above, with a tie and slim pants it creates a very dope look. A wool tie, a fitted dress shirt, complimentary pocket square complete a very clean and distinguished yet classic look. Most jackets come in a 6x2, and of those 6 buttons only 2 can be fastened. Only button the top of those fasten-able buttons. Crates the most flattering look and along with the slim and modern silhouettes, you're going to be epitome of a well dressed gentlemen.
Honestly, not too much changes with the way you wear the blazer casually. Still only button the top button should be buttoned, but there is more freedom with chinos, denim, and the air tie. The construction of the double breasted blazer also allows for a you to keep your shirt unbuttoned to your liking or even a V-neck tee. As seen below, I wore a denim dress shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned to add a little flair and confidence to the look. I went with selvedge denim and my favorite loafers but canvas sneakers can also work quite nicely with white chinos or denim.
