Fate and faith play a big part in our lives. Sometimes “right time, right place” presents you with an opportunity that was meant just for you, the rest is on you. I FINALLY filmed the last parts of my guest appearances on Rebel Conversations (dropping in January) and while at the studio, there was a photo shoot going on down the hall. I invited myself in, because I heard it was an up and coming brand shooting a lookbook (Why wouldn’t I?). I was fortunate enough to meet Phillip who, with his team, have brought the world GRAIL.
GRAIL is a collective of designers, Erin and Phillip, who each have been designing for over ten years. Erin focuses mainly on the women’s side and Phillip the men’s. They’ve honed their craft and it shows with all the intricacies of their pieces. Their latest offering for F/W features some of best detail I’ve seen. The focus of this collection was a strong update on the staple bomber jacket. They do a great contemporary take on the classic for men and women. This collection of bombers features pieces that Mix satin and suede for contrasting textures, adding a mock collar(for one of their men’s bombers) and piping down the sleeves; it creates the right aesthetic for a new modern classic. GRAIL has also fought hard to create their own distinction as a brand by offering gold zippers on all of their pieces.
I’d like to personally take time out to acknowledge my favorite piece in the collection. The men’s suede trimmed jacket. It’s a beautiful work that intertwines luxe vibes with staple sensibilities. The Gold tone is rich enough to catch your eye and make a statement without coming off as loud or over the top. The mock collar gives a nice touch and reminds you of the season. It’s a perfect price tag at $200 for quality craftsmanship and a piece you’ll keep breaking out for years to come.
Phillip and Erin were nothing short of amazing and with their brand’s quality and craftsmanship, you should give their beautiful line a look. They’ve assembled this amazing collection and they’ve only been technically doing this together as a team for a year. Go to www.grailatl.com to shop or just get more info. I’d like to thank them for their time and energy in helping me share their story with my audience and I look forward to working with them in the future; I know there are big things ahead.
