sometimes you're the breaker, sometimes you're the broken...both made you better

sometimes you're the breaker, sometimes you're the broken...both made you better

My latest project took a minute to cultivate, and probably the one I drew inspiration from friends and mixed that in with a little of my own experience. As a 31 year old (feels weird to type it), I have married friends and not so married friends. Hanging with your single friends at 30 can be drunken therapy or a  reckless attempt at recreating the Tip Drill video, both are good, but neither really give you a long term solution. So in listening to friends, and watching “insecure” and throwing a little of what I know in about heartbreak, I decided to go into the fall celebrating the fact that we've all been on both sides of the coin and came out a lot better.

I think heartbreak is a misunderstood emotion. It's uncomfortable and abrasive. You have to acknowledge it, you have to address it in the least passive way possible. The fact that subtlety isn't a solution forces you to go outside of yourself to get back to square one. You know what the really amazing thing about getting through a heartbreak is; once you've gotten over it, you'll really wonder why it took so long to see the sun shine again(cues goldlink and Gucci Mane's Crew).

So this project it to you heartbreakers with your good intentions, and the broken picking up those pieces like a champ...

much love,
